Paving the way for impact!


MODI: A leap towards SAE L4 automated driving features

MODI accelerates the introduction of highly automated solutions to improve European logistic chains.

Newsletter no. 3 covers the initial stage of ‘Paving the way for impact’ dissemination phase. In this six-month period, project partners have focused on further defining the use cases, developing the evaluation framework, and preparing for the showcase of vehicles and PDI optimisation.


 

MODI Makes Progress: Data Collection and First Trip Completed on Rotterdam-Oslo CCAM Corridor


The MODI project has achieved a significant milestone with the first trip and successful completion of data collection along the CCAM test corridor from Rotterdam to Oslo and back. This is a major step forward in assessing the corridor's readiness for automated driving at SAE Level 4.




Exciting News from TRA2024!


Representatives from the MODI consortium participated in the Transport Research Arena (TRA) in Dublin (Ireland). The theme for TRA2024 is “Transport Transitions: Advancing Sustainable and Inclusive Mobility. TRA is the largest European research and innovation conference on transport and mobility.



A groundbreaking hybrid workshop on “National Strategies Shaping the Future of Automated Transport” organised by MODI Project!

MODI Project organised a workshop to discuss and explore national strategies for automated transport within the MODI transport corridor, covering the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. Focusing primarily on logistics, the workshop represented a unique opportunity for participants to contribute valuable insights to the public decision-making processes that will shape the future of automated road transport..


MODI Project Engages at the CCAM Association Intercluster two-day meeting in Brussels!

Members of the CCAM Association convened in Brussels for a two-day gathering enriched by fruitful panel discussions and networking opportunities. MODI, represented by ALICE, participated in an informative session showcasing the initial demonstration results of several groundbreaking projects such as SHOW, Hi-Drive, AWARD, ULTIMO. Each project offered status reports on its advancements and underscored the challenges encountered.

A large MODI delegation actively participated in the 7th edition of the #RTR2024 conference organised by the European Commission, CCAM Association, ERTRAC – European Road Transport Research Advisory Council, and 2Zero in Brussels.

This unique conference served as a gateway to EU-funded road transport projects, providing valuable insights into the achievements of Horizon projects and their expected impacts. Participants learned about the next research steps in crucial areas of road transport, including Green Vehicles, urban mobility, Logistics, Intelligent Transport Systems, Safety, and Automated Road Transport.



Navigating the Future: MODI sets the starting point for highly automated freight vehicles with the reference drive in Hamburg

Hamburg experienced a milestone reference drive, featuring a production series truck outfitted with high-precision measuring devices. The reference drive assessed for the first time the vehicle’s performance under actual conditions in combination with the readiness of the infrastructure for supporting highly automated driving.



MODI Project bi-annual meeting and General Assembly meeting in Sweden!

After more than a year into this intense project, the MODI Project consortium came together at Volvo Trucks CampX facilities in Gothenburg, Sweden, for a 2-day meeting to reflect on the milestones achieved so far and shape the challenges awaiting this project’s upcoming years.

It’s with great pride that we look back on the success of the MODI Project’s #CCAM workshop, held on November 9th at the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona. Demonstrating our commitment to driving progress in Connected, Cooperative, and Automated Mobility (#CCAM) technology and services, the event brought together more than 30 influential stakeholders, use case owners, and collaborative projects in a collective effort to overcome barriers and promote the efficient deployment of CCAM technologies and logistic services.
