CONTEXT

In many aspects, modern-day vehicles are already integrated devices. However, in the very near future, they will also engage in direct interactions with one another and with the road infrastructure. This dynamic interaction falls under the realm of Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS), which will empower road users and traffic managers to exchange information and utilize it for synchronized decision-making. This spirit of cooperation, facilitated by digital connectivity between vehicles and between vehicles and transport infrastructure, is poised to make substantial enhancements in road safety, traffic efficiency, and driving comfort. It will assist drivers in making informed decisions and adapting to the prevailing traffic conditions.

Furthermore, effective communication among vehicles, infrastructure, and other road users is pivotal for enhancing the safety of forthcoming automated vehicles and seamlessly integrating them into the overall transportation ecosystem. Cooperation, connectivity, and automation are not merely distinct technologies; rather, they synergize and will eventually merge seamlessly.

OBJECTIVES

INMOVE by RAILGRUP collaborates with relevant stakeholders, promoters, use case owners, academia, and institutions to conceive and orchestrate a series of specialized workshops. The primary objectives of these workshops are to acquire the knowledge and insights necessary to contribute to the creation of a more user-centric and inclusive mobility system. This endeavor aims to enhance road safety, alleviate congestion, and reduce the environmental footprint. In terms of technology as an enabler, we champion open innovation and foster collaborative research, testing, and demonstration projects to expedite the pace of innovation and the implementation of automated mobility solutions.

Our intention is to play a pivotal role in dismantling barriers, promoting acceptance, and facilitating the efficient deployment of CCAM technologies and services. This, in turn, will serve as a crucial catalyst for improving transportation systems and logistical networks at the European level.
