Multimodal Logistics

The collaboration between the main agents of logistics and the railway is part of the new governance model to develop the sustainable, safe and connected mobility strategy.

The commitment to this greener and more efficient transport mode will contribute to meeting the environmental and climate objectives shared by the European Union, such as reducing emissions by 40%.

The collaboration between the main agents of logistics and the railway is part of the new governance model to develop the sustainable, safe and connected mobility strategy. The objective is to contribute to environmental sustainability through the adaptation of logistics chains by increasing the modal share of rail freight transport. The commitment to this greener and more efficient transport mode will contribute to meeting the environmental and climate objectives shared by the European Union, to reduce emissions by 40%. As multimodal transport remained competitive with multi-product and multi-client trains, it resolved the capillarity of infrastructures and provided multimodal operators that ensure the quality of the freight, cost, transit time and reliability of the global logistics chain.

When it comes to merchandise and multimodality, the railway stage tends to be the most reliable trunk. Infrastructures are part of the solution, but not the only one (nor do they resolve all). The necessary purpose is to: escort the requests of end users and offer specific responses.
